JOB DESCRIPTION
Oversee the day-to-day accounting functions including Invoicing, Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable, Payroll and Cash Flow and Inventory Control Management
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Develop and implement financial management strategies; budget, strategic planning, forecasting, sales revenue and cash flow and treasury analysis.
- Must be familiar with Trading Licences and manage import licences
- Produce reports on profit and loss statements.
- Analyze business operations, trends, costs, revenues, financial commitments, and obligations, to project future revenues and expenses or to provide advice.
- Report to management regarding the finances of establishment.
- Establish tables of accounts, and assign entries to proper accounts.
- Develop, maintain, and analyze budgets, preparing periodic reports that compare budgeted costs to actual costs.
- The main purpose of the role will be to work closely with the Chiief Accountant in helping resolve and anaylise any issues created by the cost control team.
- You will have a good understanding of basic double entry accounting, accruals, and prepayments.
- You will be responsible for passing the queries to the correct person and then ensuring that the query is dealt with in the appropriate manner.
- Maintain effective control over the Company’s reporting systems and procedures to enable the production of accurate, timely and relevant reporting, maintaining the distribution database, reviewing and resolving all queries and ensuring compliance with all statutory requirements and internal policies.
DESIRED SKILLS & EXPERIENCE
- Must have the relevant Accounting/Finance Degree
- Ability to communicate comfortably with all levels of staff & management in the company
- Good organisation skills and the ability to manage the flow of data effectively
- Support Chief Accountant all matters relating to the preparation, provision and resolution of queries and Trading Licences.
- Knowledge of Oracle
- Knowledge and experience in Imports and Trading
- Over 5 years of working experience in Finance and Accounting with knowledge of retail and trade.
