Our client, a leading supplier and producer of high quality products for the African Market is looking for Group Sales Manager.


  •  Analyse and understand the Import market and cycle of horticultural goods.
  • Must have excellent communication and negotiation skills.
  • Must be customer focused and have the ability to drive innovation and sales.
  • Public Relations skills is preferred with the skills to be pro-active and decisive.
  • Responsible for customer follow up and must have a thorough understanding of the technical aspects of the production of flexible packaging, horticultural and bottling market.
  • Report to the Board of Directors once a week with the ability to communicate with International Clients.
  • Get new clients by networking and prospecting
  • Ensure customer satisfaction
  • Achieve targets for sales growth and revenue.
  • Come up with strategies, tactics, profit targets and sales plans.
  • Develop and maintain relationships with partners
  • Plan new programs to increase business and profits
  • Maintain the existing client base
  • Develop and maintain good relations with the key clients of the company
  • Ensure that the team follows the company’s procedures and policies
  • Set weekly, monthly, quarterly and annual goals for the sales staff
  • Follow up on the progress made in achieving the goals and come up with solutions to any problems faced by the workers
  • Keep an accurate record of the pricings and sales
  • Ensure that the team is sticking to the budget and prepare expense reports for the senior management to review


  • Excellent communication skills with the ability to communicate effectively and persuasively.
  • A good sense of business with good organizational skills.
  • Ability to work under deadlines and often under pressure
  • Ability to take initiative and be pro-active.
  • Knowledge of any additional languages preferred.
  • The ability to delegate work and be a team player.
  • The ability to focus on others and mentor your staff.
  • Have Good leadership skills and be a good motivator
  • Fluent  in English
  • Have excellent interpersonal skills and conceptual skills
  • A minimum of 7 years working experience as a Group Sales Manager.
  • University degree is required with knowledge and sound understanding of the packaging industry.
  • A stable work history including 5+ years at your last job.
  • Experience in the packaging industry is not required but would be preferred.
  • Background with ISO preferred.
  • Must be pro-active and identify potential problems and provide solutions.
  • Must have good decision making skills.
  • Strong computer skills, including ERP, Word and Excel are required.
  • Strong analytical and time management skills.
  • You are a decisive manager with the ability to upsell products, negotiate and innovate new ideas and techniques.
