JOB DESCRIPTION
The Position is responsible for ALL Plant Operations, production management, financial management, planning and Maintenance, the day to day general and specific management to ensure smooth daily operations of the plant.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Ensure that production activities are carried out in the most effective manner and meet agreed quality, efficiency and delivery standards.
- Minimize reject, waste and defect levels to ensure manufacturing costs are contained and enhance product competitiveness.
- Ensure all Planning; Production Orders and transfer to final Stock are transacted on a daily basis.
- Ensure that all raw materials, manufacturing/trading good items and manufacturing processes conform to the company Specifications and quality standards.
- Contribute to the annual preparation of the CAPEX and production Budgets to enable expenditure and cost control.
- Make sure that preventive and corrective maintenance plans are carried out consistently to minimize breakdowns and optimize machine availability.
- Ensure that all machines are operating as per the defined parameter to maximize of output and achieve efficiency.
- Identify the HR requirements and training needs for his employees to ensure continuity in succession planning and rotation functions.
- Ensure stocks of Raw Materials and spare parts are ordered in accordance to the max/min agreed upon stock levels.
- Ensure compliance to all relevant safety, quality and environmental management procedures and controls across the production section to guarantee employee safety, legislative compliance, delivery of high quality products/service and a responsible environmental attitude.
- The position is responsible for the entire end to end daily operations of the plant and supervises the whole staff base working in the manufacturing plant.
- Establish plant policies and procedures and Responsible for plant production goals.
- Responsible for ensuring that the products being manufactured meet the company’s standards.
- Responsible for plant production goals and targets in line with the sales plans and gets involved in the annual business planning and budgeting of the manufacturing plant.
- Gets involved in the annual business planning and budgeting of the manufacturing plant.
- Responsible for establishing all shift production schedules.
- Confers with senior management to ensure that manufacturing objectives are met.
- Responsible for raw materials stock levels and monitors cost of production, makes short and long term plans in a bid to increase the efficiency and profitability of the plant.
- Budget monitoring to ensure that it does not go against the company’s standard practices.
- Responsible for the Plant transport in conjunction with the fleet manager and Monitor efficient use of all Trucks allocated to the factory to Control Fuel usage, Liaise with Suppliers for controlled deliveries and supervise Factory Sales Staff.
DESIRED SKILLS & EXPERIENCE
- Good understanding of PVC pipe formulation and mixing – the machinery that we have invested in is German – Company called Zeppelin.Good understanding of PVC, HDPE and PPR pipe extrusion
- Understanding of Socketing, recycling and testing of pipes in the plant
- Understanding of electrics, hydraulics, mechanical
- Understanding of Injection moulding and experience of the same
- Product knowledge range, product properties and design parameters.
- Knowledge of required quality standards, visual defects.
- Technical knowledge of raw materials, products and processes quality control procedure.
